Activation programs for unemployment benefit recipients in Slovenia

Abstract Activation of the unemployed has been an important topic among policymakers during last decades. This paper reviews current measures in Slovenia area activation unemployment benefit recipients and it compares its formal requirements related to against international background. The focuses on five areas: adjustment eligibility, improving employment services, participation active labour market policies, monitoring sanctions. review lists several recommendations should apply activate recipients, including introducing more demanding job search increased compliance with these requirements, compulsory programs, checking consistency effectiveness profiling system, strengthening ex-ante effect
